Watch Seth Rogen Piss Off Kathie Lee During An Awkward Neighbors 2 Interview
Few things in the entertainment industry can yield unexpected humor quite like a film’s marketing campaign. We as an audience get to see how these actors behave in real life, and how they interact with members of the press. With that in mind, if there’s one thing we can always count from Seth Rogen, it’s the fact that he won’t care about who he offends. The comedian just made an appearance on Today to promote Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, and used the opportunity to savagely take down Kathie Lee Gifford for her lack of real estate knowledge. Check out the video below.
The segment starts with Today hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb introducing a hilarious new clip for the recently released comedy, following by an introduction of the film’s leads, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. Quickly going over the plot of the film, they talk about how this sequel takes place some time after the original, and Rogen and Bryne’s characters have decided to sell their home next to the Greek house next door. They describe their property from the film as "in escrow," at which point Gifford reveals that she doesn’t understand the term, and is wholly unfamiliar with the concept.
Seth Rogen knows an opportunity for a good joke when he sees one, and he refuses to let the matter rest. He tears into Kathie Lee Gifford for not knowing what escrow means, and her subsequent attempts to defend herself or explain away her rationale only leads him to make fun of her more. It gets to the point where Gifford very clearly has had enough of Rogen, but Hoda and Rose Byrne keep on laughing as he makes fun of her.
For those of you who don’t know what escrow means, it’s simply an incredibly common real estate term. It entails the giving of something of value (i.e. money) to an impartial third-party until conditions of a transaction (i.e. a real estate deal) are met. Kathie Lee Gifford admits to having experience with real estate deals during the interview, so her lack of knowledge on the subject seems somewhat humorously disconcerting.
