Imagine you're a babysitter. You figure you'll make some quick cash watching the little brats and spending most of the night planted in front of the television. But then, the phone starts ringing...and it never stops. Whoa.
When A Stranger Calls is a remake starring on-the-rise actress Camilla Belle (Chumscrubber) as a babysitter staying in an enormous house. The phone rings, and on the other end is a creepy breathing voice, asking, "Have you checked the children?" More creepy calls ensue and she gets the police involved. They break the bad news: the calls are coming from inside their house.
Ever since the movie Scream became a smash horror hit, phones have become the new scare tactic of choice. The trailer even goes so far as to use a repeated jarring dial tone to build suspense. Now that's just funny.
