Oscar hype paid off big for the Best Picture contenders still in theaters, as Million Dollar Baby rocketed up the list to number 3 and both The Aviator and Sideways climbed up the list from the bottom of the heap. People going out to see good movies meant that cinema’s word director Uwe Boll was completely out of luck. His attempt and resurrecting Christian Slater, Alone in the Dark didn’t even register in the top ten, debuting at number 14 and no doubt headed down the road traveled by Elektra… quick disappearance. What a relief.
