Weekend Box Office: The Other Woman Schemes Way To Number One
After three weeks at number one Captain America: The Winter Soldier was finally bumped to second place. Newcomer The Other Woman banked $24 million to take the number one spot.
That was a better start than the other two new debuts this weekend. Action movie Brick Mansions, one of Paul Walker's final films, debuted at fifth place with just $9 million. Horror flick The Quiet Ones did poorly even by horror genre standards. For comparison, Oculus and Devil's Due, the two other wide release horror movies to open this year, opened with $12 million and $8 million respectively.
