Where Bill And Ted 3 Might Take Place
It’s been a long time since moviegoers saw Bill Preston and Ted Logan on the big screen, but they undoubtedly remember the adventures those two numbskulls went on back in the day. 1989’s Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure featured the two traveling through time, while 1991’s Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey had them traveling through the depths of Hell. Nearly 25 years later, the duo are reuniting for a third adventure, and it may see them going to the far-off land of…the United Kingdom! Okay, so that’s maybe not quite as grandiose.
According to sources that spoke with The Sun, Bill & Ted 3 will revolve around the protagonist time traveling to various eras in London, which could lead to historical figures like Winston Churchill or one of the Queens cameoing. While seemingly smaller in scale compared to the previous movies, watching Bill and Ted visit London in different time periods would be amusing. Assuming they have the same slack mindset they did over two decades ago, their interactions with dignified British figures would result in a lot of hilarity. One would imagine they’ll also visit some famous landmarks, like Big Ben, though let’s hope their comedic antics don’t result in irreparable damage at those locations. Now the big question is why they’ve decided to go to London, assuming it’s even something in their control.
Although Bill & Ted 3 has been in development since 2010, it’s only been in the past couple years that it’s started to make significant progress. Of course, you can’t have Bill and Ted without their original actors, and while we’ve known for a while that Alex Winter would reprise Bill Preston, he said a few weeks back that Keanu Reeves will almost certainly reprise Ted Logan. The Sun report also notes that the script is already written for the third movie, and Winter previously said he hopes they can start production at the end of the year or in early 2017.
Besides Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves, it’s unclear whether any other members of the first two movies will appear in the Bill & Ted 3. Obviously we won’t see George Carlin reprise Rufus since he passed away in 2008, but there are still a few key characters that could potentially make cameos. Maybe William Sadler’s The Reaper could pay them another visit, or Joss Ackland’s Chuck De Nomolos could appear. Let’s also not forget the guys’ 15th century girlfriends, Princesses Elizabeth and Joanna, though since about 25 years have passed, they may not be together with them anymore.
There’s no word yet on when we can expect Bill & Ted 3 to hit theaters, but we’ll keep you apprised of any updates. For now, let us know what you what you think about a London setting across many years in the comments below.
