Why Robert De Niro Got Pissed At Aubrey Plaza During A Sex Scene
Robert De Niro is one of the world’s greatest living actors. He’s won Academy Awards and played some of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema. One can imagine that working with him can be very intimidating for a young actor, especially if they have to be involved in a very intimate scene. Aubrey Plaza has sex on screen with De Niro in the new movie Dirty Grandpa and while it appears to have gone well overall, it seems she inadvertently upset him by doing something he really didn’t like.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress explains that her sex scene with Robert De Niro took pretty much an entire day of shooting. There was nothing specifically scripted to occur, so director Dan Mazer would give Plaza a number of different ideas about what to try to see what worked well. At one point he suggested she suck on Robert De Niro’s nipples, which is a thing you wouldn’t think any right-thinking human would suggest if they valued their life. As it turns out, De Niro really doesn’t care for that.
So yeah, Robert De Niro doesn’t like his nipples being sucked. Sometimes you learn terrifying things about people in the public eye that you just never needed to know.
It has to be an odd situation being in an adult comedy like Dirty Grandpa with somebody like Robert De Niro. On the one hand, you would expect a set like that to be a little nuts, what with the subject matter and mood of the film. Yet, we’re still talking about Robert De Niro here. You want to treat him with respect, even while you’re pretending to have sex with him. Not to worry, though, as it appears that Aubrey Plaza did gain at least a bit of respect from the Raging Bull star. He apparently was very complimentary of her ability to pretend to vomit. Check out the clip from the show below.
Thus ends today’s lesson on things you never wanted to know, and will never be able to forget, about Robert De Niro. Dirty Grandpa hits theaters Friday.
