Winstead Does Burlesque Dancing
Movies about dancing are taking over Hollywood one mediocre success at a time. Think about it: Shall We Dance, Dance With Me, Save The Last Dance, that one about stepping. Gyrating and shaking your ass is serious businesses nowadays. Sadly, this leaves me out of the loop since I move like Caesar during one of his epileptic seizures (Lots of involuntary spasms and screaming from everyone else), but since the rest of America loves them some dancin’, it looks like another film is on its way.
According to Variety, The Weinstein Company has bought up the rights to Make It Happen. The rhythmic film follows a small town girl (livin’ in a lonely world) who heads to the Windy City with dreams of dancing her way to the top. Unfortunately, success proves elusive, and she ends up working in a burlesque club.
Darren Grant (Diary Of A Mad Black Woman) is set to direct, and the film is headlined by Tessa Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. You probably remember Thompson as “Jamie Cook” from former CW staple ‘Veronica Mars’, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as being one of the hottest women ever. Winstead formerly lit up the screen with ultra-hot performances in Sky High, Bobby, and Grindhouse. I would normally discount seeing this motion picture altogether, but the tempting allure of sultry vixens in burlesque attire may prove to strong to resist.
