Andy Fickman won't be the only Race to Witch Mountain collaborator to profit off that family movie's box office success. Mark Bomback, who co-wrote the screenplay with Matt Lopez, has been picked to write the Playtone project Agent Zigzag.

It doesn't seem that his Witch Mountain credit is what got him the job, since Zigzag seems like an entirely different project-- an adaptation of Ben Macintyre's book about a criminal who became a double agent during World War II. Bomback also wrote Live Free or Die Hard, though, so he's got some action experience up his sleeve.

Variety notes that Tom Hanks, of course, will be producing it, meaning that he and Steven Spielberg will have eventually cornered the market on all kinds of World War II tales. This sounds like a new, interesting story though, proving that there are still plenty of stories left to tell from this cinematically rich period of time.
