Wonder Woman Flies Without Her Invisible Jet In New Batman V Superman Footage

There’s a lot that we still don’t know about how Wonder Woman will fit into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While we expect we won’t get a lot of history of the character until her standalone film next year, one of the films sponsor’s has now clued us into exactly how she gets to Gotham City. She flies commercial.

It turns out that Turkish Airlines is one of the sponsors of Dawn of Justice. As part of their promotional deal, the airline will be featured in the movie itself. In a special promotional trailer posted by the airline, we see both the interior of a Turkish airlines plane as well as the exterior.

Since the point of spending money on promotion like this is to get your brand featured in the film, we would assume that the Turkish Airlines plane isn’t standing in for anything other than itself. This would imply that Diana is traveling from Turkey we would assume, to Gotham. Or alternatively, they could be scenes of her headed home from Gotham. While we don’t know where the Amazon’s island of Themyscira is located, we know they’re using locations in southern Italy to film it, and as it’s based in greek mythology, a Mediterranean location certainly makes the most sense. Does Turkey have the closest major airport to the home of the amazons? Does it matter? Not really, but it’s fun to speculate.

These shots are interesting for another reason. In a film called Batman v Superman, we expected that our being introduced to Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) would only occur as it is associated to one of those two characters. We figured the movie would only be following the two leads. These scenes, however, appear to show her alone as a separate character. How much of Wonder Woman will see apart from Batman or Superman? It opens up the possibility that there’s a lot more of this movie that we haven’t seen. Check out the full trailer below.

Whatever the truth, we look forward to finding out when Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice finally arrives in theaters March 25.
