When Worlds Collide Again
We all have our special enticements that we can't stay away from. For me, it's chocolate. I am a slave to its heavenly taste that sees no limits. For director Stephen Sommers, it's a remake of When Worlds Collide, based on the original from 1951. According to Variety. he initially dropped out of the Paramount Pictures film and signed on instead for the upcoming Night At The Museum.
Well clearly, that didn't pan out either, and now he is back in the saddle for When Worlds Collide, as writer and director. This time around, Steven Spielberg is onboard as producer, which is surely a selling point. Sommers (The Mummy) can't seem to stay away from the project. I hope his instincts do right by him.
The story is about a group of astronomers who realize that one planet is on a path nearing dangerously close to Earth, which would cause disaster to strike the land and sea. They decide to build a rocket so a few lucky individuals can escape the first of the unwelcomed intruders (thank you, Amazon!)
