There’s a text description of what people are claiming is the soon-to-be-seen X3 trailer floating around out there, and it’s been so many places at this point I’m not even sure who to credit with it. A few people suggest it may have originated at a place called CanMag. I’ve never heard of them, so I can’t really vouch for their credibility.
The thing is, they just started filming. A couple of weeks ago I posted the first pictures from the set in our X3 Preview, a shot of Wolverine in the woods. It seems a little early for them to have the kind of footage outlined in this description ready. This is really effects heavy stuff.
But, because there’s no story too small, I’m bringing it to you with the following note: This may be completely fake. Stay skeptical.
Black Screen:
Scene of Cyclops talking as the Professor lays to his left on a straight glass like table.
Cyclops: "The Professor has slipped into a deep coma. A virus of some sort has overtaken his body."
Screen flashes black:

Music begins as a slow background drum with a low base trombone
Scene of the X men (Cyclops, Beast, Rogue, Kitty Pride, Wolverine, Storm and Iceman) that is viewed from a hovered camera. A flash of orange light hits them and the screen goes black again

Pyro: "Bobby didn’t your mother ever tell you not to play with fire?" (Igniting fire in his hand that lights the cave)
Iceman: "No John, my mother told YOU never to play with fire." (Hovers an ice ball in his hand)

Scene of Cyclops again, this time talking to an off screen character in the X Mansion
Cyclops: "The last thing I need is you here."
Off-screen character: "The first thing you need here, is to remember who you are talking to."
Screen black again:
Scene of Colossus jumping in front of Kitty Pride to save her. A punch sends him across the screen
Kitty Pride Yells, Rouge screams for Iceman

Magneto: "You can not be that foolish to think you can control your powers." He begins to hurl objects off the screen

There you go. Now, assuming for a moment that there’s any truth to any of this, there’s a few things to note. First, I wasn’t aware that Bobby could levitate ice. That sounds well… weird. But what really strikes me is that this sounds a lot more action oriented than character oriented the way the last one was. Since the director is Brett Ratner and the script is reportedly crap, well that may actually be a good thing. Some of this sound pretty cool really, but note how many characters they’re showing in this thing. It’s packed, and this is just the teaser. How many of these are really in the movie and how many are just cameos? Is Colossus really playing any sort of major role?
Real or not, it’s not a bad idea for Fox to get a teaser out soon. It’s early, but if the teaser is good it might help combat some of the negative vibes out there right now for the project. Though my positive energy is so low right now, I’m not sure how much it would help. Couldn’t hurt.
