Yankee Goes Pro
Before Christopher Reeve passed away (*sniffle*), he was directing a computer-animated feature called Yankee Irving. Although it's unclear who will take over the directing gig, the future looks promising for this flick.
According to Dark Horizons, the film has landed a top-notch cast of vocal talent including Jake Syzmanski (title role), Whoopi Goldberg, Rob Reiner, Brian Dennehy, William H. Macy, Mandy Patinkin, Dana Reeve, Robert Wagner, Richard Kind, Raven Symone, and NY Yankee Manager Joe Torre. Not a bad line-up for a film that doesn't have Disney attached to it. Yet.
Yankee Irving is about a boy who travels across the country to return Babe Ruth's bat before the determining game of the 1932 World Series. After the Red Sox game of last year, I can't relive the depression of seeing them lose again, so I'll assume all goes well and they win because of the lucky bat. The movie should hit theaters sometime in 2006.
