You're Next Gets Three Creepy New Teaser Posters
You're Next begins as a group of siblings reunite to celebrate their parents' 30th wedding anniversary, but find everything go to hell when their house is attacked by a pack of anonymous killers. Beyond the terrific performances, great direction, and great storytelling, however, a big part of what makes the film such an effective bit of horror are the truly creepy animal masks that the villains wear - and it turns out those same masks are pretty effective for marketing the film as well.
Following it's incredibly successful screening at SXSW earlier this month and in advance of the film's release this August, Lionsgate has released a series of teaser posters for the thriller. The designs are very simple, but between the splashes of blood, the scratched/aged look, and the dark shadows, they definitely tap into the terrifying tone of the movie. You can check out all of the posters above and below, and click on each one to see it full size.
The film first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival all the way back in 2011, where it earned an impressive amount of buzz - and I'm happy to say that it definitely lives up to the hype. I was present during the showing in Austin a couple weeks ago and loved it, so you can count me in as one of those excited to see it finally get a theatrical release this summer. You can read my full review of the film HERE and also be sure to check out my interview with director Adam Wingard.
