Warner Bros and DC Films' biggest film to date, Justice League is currently filming in London, and it will feature the biggest lineup of characters that we've ever seen in the DC Extended Universe thus far. Not only do you have Batman and Wonder Woman, but Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman will also make their debut, not to mention popular side characters like Lois Lane, Commissioner Gordon, and Lex Luthor. That's a big list of the who's who in DC Comics, but new rumors claim that one more classic character will appear in the film as well. Jared Leto's Joker is believed to be in the film as the actor was recently seen coming back from a trip to London.
Jared's Leto's portrayal of Batman's worst enemy will make his debut in this summer's Suicide Squad, but people are already speculating that the Clown Prince of Crime will next appear in Justice League. Nothing is confirmed, but Just Jared has posted pictures of Leto arriving in LAX airport, apparently having just gotten back from a trip to London. The actor also documented the occasion with pictures in London that he posted to Twitter and Snapchat. This has immediately led to some fans believing that Leto was in London to film for Justice League. After all, an actor who plays a popular character arriving where the big DC film happens to be filming seems to imply he was there to report to set.
It's important to take all of this with a grain of salt. While we don't know the details of Jared Leto's journey across the pond, it does seem a little too coincidental that he should be so close to where they are filming Justice League. It's possible he filmed something, but it's still anyones guess at the moment. If Joker does appear in the movie it could just be a cameo, perhaps watching Batman and the League on the news from Arkham Asylum.
Justice League is already a pretty packed film, so there might not be room for someone with a screen presence like The Joker. The film will already have to introduce Aquaman, Atlantis, and his Atlantean buddies, as well as service characters like Commissioner Gordon and Jessie Eisenberg's Luthor.
Actors are spotted near sets all the time and people usually jump to the conclusion that they'll be in the movie. It shouldn't be ruled out that Leto might have gone to London to simply visit the set and watch a little movie making. Tom Holland recently visited the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 but that doesn't mean Spider-Man is going to space.
We'll likely find out more about the Joker's possible Justice League role in the near future, but until then keep it with Cinema Blend for all your DC updates. Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
