When Wonder Woman Will Likely Drop More New Footage

Wonder Woman

In a movie titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the character that nobody could stop talking about was Wonder Woman. While her scenes were few, she stole every one that she was in, leaving many very excited for her standalone film. Other than a few shots as part of a TV special, however, we've seen very little of the movie itself. That may be changing very soon as Warner Bros. has officially announced which films will get the spotlight during their San Diego Comic-Con panel, and Wonder Woman is on the list.

SDCC is just over a week away (yikes!) and everybody is starting to announce exactly what they'll be doing at the big show this year. As is to be expected from Warner Bros, DC Comics is set to be a big part of their annual presentation. In addition to having the Suicide Squad team there, just a couple of weeks before its release, Wonder Woman has also been announced. Those will be the two DCEU films in attendance. The tangentially related LEGO Batman Movie will also be there, along with Kong: Skull Island, Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Connie Nielsen are all confirmed to be in attendance for the Hall H shindig, along with director Patty Jenkins. Beyond that, we don't know specifically what to expect. With a release date of June 2 of next year, it's just short of a year before the film is released. That might be a little early for a full trailer, although it's likely that the studio has cut something together to show the assembled crowd, which will surely be leaked onto the internet a few minutes later. If WB treats SDCC as they did last year, with its BvS footage, an official version came out immediately. Wonder Woman is the last film to be released that will be in attendance at the panel, meaning that whatever we see will likely be in a rougher state than any of the other films. Filming has wrapped on the movie, however, so Warner Bros. certainly has their footage, it's just a question if it's ready from primetime.
