Batman's New Batsuit For Justice League Looks Incredible, See It Now
Earlier this year, when we got to visit the set of Zack Snyder's Justice League, we reported that there would be at least two Batsuits being used by Bruce Wayne. One, which he would reserve for battles against powerful Parademons, was labeled the Tactical Batsuit, and it was determined to have more armor and protection for the human Bruce Wayne, going against massive creatures. Well, Zack Snyder just dropped an image of it. This is amazing:
Batman (Ben Affleck) learned, going up against Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that there are far more powerful beings out there in the universe. Initially, it terrified him, and rightfully so. So he constructed that badass Frank Miller-inspired armor, and equipped himself with some of Lex Luthor's kryptonite, and took down the last son of Krypton. Temporarily. Now, with the looming threat of Steppenwolf and his winged Parademons -- hinted at in the Knightmare sequence of Dawn of Justice -- Wayne knows that he needs something a little more intense, a little more protective. He concocts the Tactical suit, which offers more durable protection but makes the Bat more flexible, for proper fighting techniques.
The tactical suit wasn't finished when we visited the London set of Zack Snyder's Justice League in July. Costume designer Michael Wilkinson said he had a few more weeks before Snyder needed it to film, so he was ramping up the design. Snyder shared this image on what he says is his final day of shooting Ben Affleck in the tactical suit. Production on the 2017 blockbuster could be drawing to a close very soon.
Sadly, the details of the suit will remain under wraps for right now. Batman appears to be standing in his Bat cave, next to his Batmobile, but the way the shot is lit, it's still pretty much a black suit bathed in shadows. The cowl does appear to have goggles, which Wilkinson teased for us when he was laying out his plan for the Tactical Batsuit. But beyond that, there isn't a lot of new detail we can share. It looks like a Batsuit.
Now, there are some saying that it ALSO looks like the Night Owl suit that was worn in Watchmen, also directed by Zack Snyder:
So, tell us. What do you guys think of Batman's new threads? Badass? Derivative? Do you want a better shot of it? Will this be enough to protect Batman (Affleck) in battle during Justice League? The movie hits theaters on November 17, 2017. Weigh in with your thoughts below.
