How Much xXx 3 Will Feature Of Samuel L. Jackson
This January, audiences will be able to revel in all of the extreme sports action they can handle when xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage hits theaters worldwide. Along with the return of Vin Diesel's Xander Cage will come the return of the franchise's version of M, Samuel L. Jackson's Augustus Gibbons. However, if you're the type of fan that hates when a big name star you like is only cast to deliver exposition in bookending segments of a film, then you're probably not going to like his briefing on the extent of his appearance.
While speaking with Collider about his upcoming role in Tim Burton's Miss Perigrine's Home For Peculiar Children, Jackson's piece of the action in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage was brought into question. Considering how busy the man's schedule can get, it's a fairly valid question for any of the many films he attaches his name to. In the case of the D.J. Caruso-directed sequel in the long-dormant franchise, Jackson's role is pretty straightforward, as he described it thusly:
Never being one to shy away from a straight shooting situation, Samuel L. Jackson laid out his role in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage without any problem, as well as admitted that he has no clue what happens in the middle portion of the film that doesn't involve him. This pretty much puts him on par with his first appearance in the xXx franchise, as Agent Gibbons did get to see quite a bit of action in the forgotten middle chapter to the series, xXx: State of the Union. With this fact in mind, it looks like most of Jackson's time in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage may very well we featured in the trailer previously released for the film.
While xXx: The Return of Xander Cage doesn't have a lot of Samuel L. Jackson in it, at the very least we can expect Agent Augustus Gibbons to be a true-to-form smart-ass. Much like most of the characters he plays, Samuel L. Jackson embraces a sense of candor that only a select list of actors could get away with. Should such a list exist, you know that Jackson would be pretty close to, if not at the very top of that list.
xXx: The Return of Xander Cage takes things to the extreme on January 20, 2017. That said, if you're looking for more Samuel L. Jackson in your life, he'll be playing a baddie in this weekend's Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, which opens in early showings tomorrow night.
