Trainspotting 2 Trailer Is Exciting, Stylish And NSFW, Watch It Now
Trainspotting was an epic movie for its time. It resonated with a lot of viewers. Now, 20 years later, it's time to go back and see the old crew again and see who made something of their life and who's still stuck in the past. The first full trailer for T2 Trainspotting is out and while it will certainly remind you of the original one, it 's also clear that these four men have been through quite a lot in the last two decades. Check it out, as long as you're not at work.
Both the trailer for the original film and the sequel open with the mantra "Choose Life." Of course, while Mark Renton goes on to say in the first film that he has decided not to choose life. In the sequel, it's clear that he has stayed clean since the end of the last movie. The new film follows Ewan McGregor's character as he returns home after being away fro the last two decades. All his old friends are still in town, some have appeared to have moved on with their lives, others not so much.
The trailer certainly tries to remind us of the original in many ways. The only thing missing is Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" playing in the background, although, the first teaser trailer covered that base. At the same time, we know that this won't be the same movie. Ewan McGregor has said that part of the reason that a sequel took this long to happen was because they needed a great script with a story worth telling. Simply doing the same thing over again wasn't good enough. Still, the new trailer even ends where the first movie's trailer began. With Renton standing in front of a car and grinning.
It would appear that one cannot escape their past as the events of the first film come back to haunt all of them, both figuratively and literally. The story of T2 Trainspotting (which really does appear to be the full title) will focus on how even after one has kicked a habit they're never truly free of addiction. It's something that some people have to deal with for the rest of their lives and even 20 years later Renton, Sick Boy, Spud, and Begbie are still dealing with it.
Will you be catching up with the Trainspotting crew? T2 Trainspotting hits theaters February 3 in North America.
