The Wonder Woman Trailer Has A Subtle Bruce Wayne Reference, Check It Out
If you consider yourself a DC fan, then you probably already know that a seriously badass Wonder Woman trailer dropped online yesterday. Patty Jenkins' upcoming DCEU film looks insanely awesome, and it's chock full of references to the greater DC universe. Although there's no guarantee that we will see The Caped Crusader during the events of Diana Prince's adventure, we can now confirm that she definitely shares office supplies with Bruce Wayne. Check out the photo below to see for yourself.
As you can see from that screen grab, Diana Prince very clearly uses paper from Wayne Industries in the modern day scenes of Wonder Woman. She got her hands on the photo of herself that Lex Luthor stole, and she examines it while taking notes on paper borrowed from Batman's company. Perhaps it's even possible that Bruce Wayne is the person she's talking to in the trailer when she gives her "I used to want to save the world" speech.
This goes a long way towards establishing the chronology of Wonder Woman. Although much of the movie will take place during World War I, the present day scenes will likely occur between the events of Batman V Superman and Justice League, with Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne searching for other metahumans to recruit. Based off of that fact, we can likely assume that Wonder Woman will act as a major stepping-stone for the future of the DCEU, while also serving to tell Diana's origin.
It's not terribly surprising to see paper with Bruce Wayne's name on it in the trailer. We've known for some time that his company would play a role in Wonder Woman in some form or another. Earlier this year set photos even leaked showing Gal Gadot standing near armored Wayne Industries trucks, serving as further confirmation that she's definitely using his resources during the events of Wonder Woman.
That being said, it's worth acknowledging that there's no guarantee of a Bruce Wayne cameo during the course of Wonder Woman. Although there may be plenty of references to The Dark Knight's corner of the DC mythos, IMDB does not list Ben Affleck as a member of the film's cast or crew. Could he show up for a surprise cameo? Definitely. Can we definitively confirm such a cameo? Not yet.
As time goes by it has become increasingly clear that he DCEU is becoming more and more cohesive with each passing film. We will bring you more information related to the upcoming release of Wonder Woman as new details become available. Diana Prince's solo movie will hit theaters next summer on June 2, 2017.
Of course, the reference to Bruce Wayne isn't the only minor detail that we picked up on during the latest Wonder Woman trailer. Check out the preview for The Amazon's upcoming solo movie on the next page to see all of the other awesome homages.
