High-Flying Transformers Video Shows Bumblebee Racing Into Battle
While Transformers movies may be criticized for their simplistic stories and reliance on digital effects and explosions, there's one thing that you can't argue: those explosions are pretty cool. A new video has been posted from the new Transformers movie that shows the filmmakers' view of some cool cars, crashes, and things blowing up. Everything you've come to expect from Michael Bay and the Transformers franchise.
The highlight of the video is the Chevy Camero that plays the character of Bumblebee when he's not in his giant robot form. We see the car flying through a fairly desolate landscape. The Camero looks all the more bright and shiny next to a location which looks incredibly rundown. We also get cars flipping over, exploding, and on fire. The newest entry in the Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight looks o be shaping up like any other.
But then, of course, the fact that this video looks like it could be from any Transformers movie certainly creates a number of questions, because everything we have heard and seen from Transformers: The Last Knight has made it appear that the movie was going to be something quite different. We know that the film will take place in multiple time periods, including a medieval Camelot, and an alternate history version of World War II where the Nazis successfully invaded England. The story appeared to be completely bonkers. On the one hand, it's almost comforting to see fast cars and soldiers and explosions, the Transformers we know, but on the other hand, we're even more confused how scenes like this will fit in with all the others.
We know that Transformers 5 will include King Arthur, Merlin the magician, and Winston Churchhill. It will also include Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel who will be returning to the franchise to reprise their roles from the first three Transformers movies. They'll star alongside Mark Wahlberg who will be back as the lead human character after taking over the spot from Shia Lebeouf in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
It would appear that these scenes were filmed recently someplace in Africa. We know that's where the production was headed after wrapping filming in the UK where they shot scenes outside of Buckingham Palace as well as at Winston Churchhill's former home. Transformers: The Last Knight was also one of the first American films to shoot in Cuba following the normalizing of relations between the two countries. The production has been literally all over the world at this point, we have no idea what we're going to see next.
What do you think of this look at Transformers The Last Knight? Are you excited to see the newest movie of fast cars and giants robots? The film hits theaters June 23, 2017.
