One Star Wars Actor James Gunn Would Love to Bring Over To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Some actors are born to become part of outlandish universes, and few character actors embody that idea more than Alan Tudyk. The guy has expertly made a career out of offbeat characters who fit perfectly into insane worlds. He did it with Firefly and Dollhouse, and he's about to do it again with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But it seems that there's still one other franchise on his wish list. The actor recently expressed interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for an eventual Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, and it appears that James Gunn is definitely interested in the idea. Gunn recently took to Twitter to elaborate:

Upon learning that Alan Tudyk has a true interest in making an appearance in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, James Gunn took to Twitter to voice his support for the idea. The two have previously collaborated, and have apparently developed a friendship over the course of their respective careers. If Tudyk and Gunn are both on board, then I think it's safe to say that we all are as well.

Alan Tudyk has really become a no-brainer casting choice for a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. After all, between his iconic role as Wash in Joss Whedon's Firefly (and Serenity), as well as his upcoming role as K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (which has already started to generate immense buzz), the guy has developed unquestionable credentials amongst the most passionate nerd circles. He can deliver laughs, and he's clearly insanely comfortable working within a sci-fi world -- two of the most important qualities to have when entering the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Besides, more Alan Tudyk is never a bad thing.

Alan Tudyk

Bringing Alan Tudyk over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe likely wouldn't even be very difficult. The Star Wars franchise and the Marvel franchise are both Disney owned properties, so his existing relationship with Lucasfilm would likely make a crossover fairly easy to negotiate. Combine that with the fact that he really wants to be in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and we can see no reason why it wouldn't happen in the near future.

Whether or not Alan Tudyk will ever actually make an appearance in a Guardians of the Galaxy film (or any Marvel movie for that matter) remains to be seen. That being said, we think it's a phenomenal idea, and we wholeheartedly support the decision to bring him into the MCU. Alan Tudyk will debut as K-2SO when Rogue One hits theaters on December 16, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will blast its way into theaters on May 5, 2017.
