New Lego Batman Movie Image Is Solid Gold
Before we get any other comic book movies in 2017, we'll first get to experience the LEGO comic book film that is The LEGO Batman Movie. The movie is looking to continue the hilarious insanity of The LEGO Movie and we can't wait. The newest image shows Batman in the most fabulous outfit we've ever seen. Why doesn't he fight crime like this?
While Batman is always a dark, somber figure, there may not be a version of the character that is quite as brooding as the one we met in The LEGO Movie. He's dark and deep and he wants you to know it. That's part of what makes this image of Batman in a shiny gold suit utterly bizarre and hilarious. Batman is smiling, which is really just wrong.
According to the story from Entertainment Weekly, This Batman really hates having to go to fancy galas as Bruce Wayne, he'd much rather be Batman, but since we always seem to see Bruce Wayne at a fancy party in every Batman movie, this one was to be no different. Apparently, Alfred will talk Batman into attending the event by promising that if he goes, he'll get to have a "tuxedo dress-up party." That is apparently something Batman enjoys. This is one of the many outfits Batman will try on in order to find the right one.
Of course, this, in a nutshell, is what's beautiful about The LEGO Batman Movie. It's the combination of the comically dark version of Batman, combined with the bright colors and silliness that makes up the LEGO Movie style of comedy.
The voice cast of The LEGO Batman Movie is rock solid from top to bottom. While Will Arnett will be returning to voice Batman, the film will also include the talents of Rosario Dawson, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Cera, and Zack Galifinakis.
While everybody loves Batman, sometimes a slightly more upbeat and humorous take on the character is what's needed, like a palette cleanser to get us all ready for the next entry in the DC Extended Universe. The new movie should make for a nice break in between all the straight-laced comic book movies. The LEGO Batman Movie is set for release on February 10, 2017. With all the other comic book movies set for next year this one could get overlooked, but it's certainly got the potential to be one of the funniest movies of the year.
