How Ben Affleck Feels About The Constant Batman Movie Questions

When you think of a famous actor's life, you usually assume most of the time is spent either on set or enjoying a luxurious life sleeping on their millions. In fact, there are a great deal of facets and responsibilities that come with a career in show business, one of which is press junkets and interviews. Stars are constantly being asked about their current projects, and when you're in a superhero franchise you can't get more than a few minutes without being questioned about it. Case in point: Ben Affleck, who will be directing and starring in the untitled Batman solo movie- in addition to his upcoming appearance in Justice League.

Ben Affleck recently did an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where host Jimmy Kimmel brought up the newest Justice League still that recently hit the web. Eventually the subject turned to the Batman movie, where Batfleck got real with Kimmel about the constant inquiries.

I'm going to direct the next Batman, we're working on it. It's one of those things that's really frustrating because Live by Night took me a year and a half to write it and get it ready, and worked really hard. It's just that nobody gave a shit, no one was like 'Where's Live by Night!,' but with Batman I keep on getting 'Where's the fucking Batman!' Wow, I'm working, give me a second!

Ben Affleck just dropped the mic. And I can't say I blame him.

The internet basically exploded when news of Ben Affleck's expanded role in the untitled Batman movie was released. Affleck has quite the impressive resume of projects under his belt, so having him behind the camera seemed like a very positive sign for The Dark Knight's first solo venture in the DCEU. Affleck's performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was widely considered the best part of the divisive film, so having more time with the Caped Crusader can only be a good thing.

The world of movies is being dominated by superhero universes. Between the DCEU, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and X-Men franchise, you can't turn a corner without running into a hero in tights saving the day. Audiences are clearly invested in the serialized storytelling, and will consistently shell out bucks to see the next installment. So unfortunately, Ben Affleck may have to deal with these questions for as long as he's involved in the DCEU; the fanbase is rabid, and they want more info.

It's actually quite refreshing to see Ben Affleck be so honest about some of the less desirable aspects of his job. Celebrities: they get annoyed with redundant questions just like us!

You can check out Ben Affleck's next adventure as Batman when Zack Snyder's Justice League flies into theaters on November 17th, 2017.
