The Kardashians Will Be In Ocean's 8 Because They Don't Say No To Paychecks, Cameras
If you've been paying any attention to the world of TV and film you'll notice two trends that are ruling the day with an iron fist: reboots and the Kardashians. For scripted shows and movies, nostalgia is a popular trend that has resulted in previously completed projects suddenly returning to the lime light. From shows like Fuller House to movies like Independence Day: Resurgence, what is old is suddenly new again. And then there's the Kardashian family, who consistently rule reality TV and lifestyle. Well prepare for these two worlds to collide, as two Kardashian daughters are scheduled to make an appearance in an upcoming reboot.
TMZ recently snapped a few choice photos of Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner in New York City. The half sisters were dressed to the nines (as usual), but it wasn't for a party or appearance. In fact, the two are actually scheduled to appear as cameo roles in the upcoming all-female Ocean's Eight. While the reality TV stars and models likely won't affect the larger plot of the narrative, they'll be joining an all-star cast of female actors who have been helping the comedy gain attention and hype as it films.
While some naysayers and Kardashian haters might reject the sisters appearing alongside acting greats such as Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock, you can't deny that having the Kardashian name associated with the movie will help attract new and younger audiences. So if you're about comment this story to hate on the Kardashians, we have just one thing to say:
In all seriousness, Ocean's Eight is set to be an absolutely fantastic comedy. The Ocean's franchise has always done well at the box office, and this cast is stacked with hilarious and impressive female performers. Joining Sandra Bullock's lead character are actresses who are used to snatching trophies come awards season. The cast includes film stars Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Dakota Fanning, and Helena Bonham Carter. Joining them are TV A-listers Sarah Paulson (American Crime Story, American Horror Story) and Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project). Plus Rihanna is attached to the project, so how can you go wrong?
It should be interesting to see how Ocean's Eight fares with the brave folks on the internet. The all female Ghostbusters film was heaven for haters, who demonstrated how many folks are out there that will hate a movie simply because it stars women. Will trolls put Ocean's Eight through the ringer? We'll just have to wait and see.
