The Avengers: Infinity War Character Peter Dinklage Might Be Playing
Production for Avengers: Infinity War will soon commence, and we could not be more excited about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the conclusion to Phase 3, the event will mark a significant moment for the entire MCU, and it will bring many outlandish new charters into the equation. One such mysterious character is the one played by Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage, but any substantial details regarding the nature of the part have remained elusive at best -- until now. New photos of Dinklage have surfaced online, and they seem to suggest the distinct possibility that he will take on the role of Pip the Troll in the next Avengers film.
Daily Mail recently released some telling new photos of Peter Dinklage in a New York City hair salon. The actor wasn't there simply to get a little trim off of the top; he had his stylist dye his hair a dark shade of red that's a far cry from his typically brunette mop. Given the recent announcement of his involvement in Avengers: Infinity War, the change of hair color makes it increasingly likely that the diminutive Game of Thrones star is gearing up to portray Pip the Troll -- a red-headed character and mainstay of the Infinity War arc.
Once you've taken a look at Dinklage's new hairdo, check out a picture of Pip the Troll below to see how the comparison stacks up.
For Peter Dinklage to take on Pip the Troll as his role in Avengers: Infinity War makes sense at this point. A former prince of the planet Laxidazia, the character is typically known for his hedonistic tendencies, as well as his important partnership with Thanos. He's a central fixture of the Infinity War arc, and I think it's safe to say that it makes sense to cast Tyrion Lannister in this role.
Of course, exactly where Pip the Troll goes from here remains a mystery for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although Peter Dinklage could potentially make his debut during the actual events of Infinity War, it's just as likely that we could see him on the silver screen earlier than that. Given the undeniably weird nature of the character, as well as the fact that Marvel loves to prime mainstream audiences on its more bizarre story elements, we wouldn't be surprised if Pip shows up in a post or a mid-credits sequence at some point before May 2018 rolls around. After all, there are still quite a few Marvel movies left in Phase 3 before The Avengers assemble again.
No matter what character Peter Dinklage ends up playing, we can pretty much assume that he's going to be a total scene-stealer. Avengers: Infinity War will commence production next week, and the behemoth film is currently slated to blast its way into theaters on May 4, 2018.
