What Vin Diesel Wants From Groot In Avengers: Infinity War
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a pretty massive place. What started with Tony Stark's adventure in 2007's Iron Man has expanded all the way into outer space. James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy has been widely considered one of the best entires into the MCU, and the franchise's many fans are looking forward to seeing more of the Guardians soon. Because in addition to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the team will also meet the greater MCU in Avengers: Infinity War. With anticipation for the giant team up film only increasing as it approaches, the Guardians actors are beginning to voice their excitement. And Vin Diesel is no exception.
Vin Diesel plays the always adorable Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When speaking to Screen Rant about his new sequel xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Diesel revealed who he's hoping Groot interacts with in Avengers: Infinity War. He said,
It looks like Vin Diesel wants the two non-verbal heroes to meet up and possibly tussle a bit. Groot and Hulk may be simple, but they're some of the biggest guns that the heroes have again Thanos and his forces.
In just one movie, Vin Diesel's Groot has become one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Groot's relationship with Rocket Raccoon was a major highlight of Guardians of the Galaxy, as was Groot's noble sacrifice to save his friends. But things got really meme-worthy in the final moments of the film, as we saw a newly grown Groot mess with Drax and show off some sweet dance moves.
The Hulk; however, has been a bit absent lately. Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner was one of the few characters missing from Captain America: Civil War, although he's set to team up with Thor in Thor: Ragnarok. But Avengers: Infinity War will debut shortly after Ragnarok hits theaters, making Thor once again part of the MCU. Now we just need he and Groot to team up and Vin Diesel's dreams will come true.
Of course, Groot will have to grow back to normal size in order to really keep up with The Hulk. He's likely to spend the majority of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as Baby Groot, so something miraculous will have to happen in order to get the adult Groot back on the silver screen.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will fly into theaters May 5th, 2017.
