Someone Remade The Empire Strikes Back’s Climactic Scene With Cats, And It’s Amazing
Hey, you. Yes, I am talking to you. You look a little glum this morning. You know what will cheer you up? Watching the iconic and climactic twist from The Empire Strikes Back performed by a pair of adorable cats. It is as glorious as it sounds, and you need to see it to believe it. Check out the video below to see the delightful video for yourself.
What did I say? Is that not the best video that you have seen all day? Using a split screen format, the scene shows the original Cloud City sequence from The Empire Strikes Back, and pairs it up with a set of cats acting out the scene in someone's living room. Everything syncs up absolutely perfectly, and the quick video comes to a head when one of the cats actually freaks out when Luke Skywalker screams his iconic "NO!" There are few things more universally loved on the Internet than furry felines and the franchise from a galaxy far, far away, so you would be hard pressed to find someone who does not enjoy that clip.
Of course, looking at this video with a big picture mentality, it also serves as a stark reminder of how much Star Wars means to people, and how much the saga has resonated with fans over the years. Scenes like the classic "I am your father" moment have become ingrained in our collective consciousness, and they really defy context. With that in mind, fans of the Star Wars universe have always found ways to get themselves involved in the series in some form or another. These projects range from fan fiction to Star Wars themed DIY project, to recreating classic scenes from the movies.
Beyond all of that, this short video also features one of the most hilarious still shots I have ever seen from a single YouTube video.
Just look at that face. Even if you are not crazy about the Star Wars franchise, that adorable face alone (the cat's, not Luke's) should be worth the price of admission.
As always, CinemaBlend will bring you all of the latest and greatest news related to the future of the Star Wars franchise as more relevant information becomes available to us. The series will continue when Rian Johnson's Episode VIII hits theaters later this year on December 15. Although it does not feature any adorable cats, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is still currently in theaters, so make sure to check it out while you still can!
