The Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Super Bowl Trailer Is Here, And It Is Awesome

Marvel has a long history of debuting new spots during the Super Bowl, and 2017 is yet another year when comic book fans and football fans can come together for the same event. The latest trailer for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has dropped online after debuting during the big game, and you can watch it below!

The first Guardians of the Galaxy didn't get a Super Bowl trailer because it wasn't released until late summer 2014, but with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 being release in the prime first-week-of-May slot, this year is different. We now have this fantastic new look at Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Baby Groot in their new blockbuster adventure... and with a whole bunch of new team members as well. This spot really confirms the full new lineup for the Guardians, which also includes Yondu (Michael Rooker), Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff).

Of course, the full team isn't the only big reveal featured in this Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer. In addition to confirming "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac as part of the anticipated soundtrack (first suggested at San Diego Comic-Con 2016), the footage also delivers us a glimpse at two characters who will be extremely important in the blockbuster. The first is Ayesha, the all-gold alien played by Elizabeth Debicki:

And Taserface, the rebellious new leader of the Ravagers who is being played by Chris Sullivan:

I don't know about you guys, but this trailer definitely makes my heart beat just a bit faster and the muscles in my cheeks to tighten towards my ears. Sure, this new look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 doesn't really give us any more clues about the plot, but the visuals are breathtaking, and it's simply blissful to see these characters coming back. "'Welcome to the fricken Guardians of the Galaxy'... only he didn't use fricken'" is a great line, but knowing James Gunn it should be one of hundreds of wonderful pieces of excellent and dialogue in the feature.

How are all of you feeling about this trailer? Are you now at maximum excitement for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, or are you still waiting to be sold on the upcoming sequel? Leave your thoughts, opinions and feelings in the comments section below, and stay tuned for a whole lot more about the comic book space adventure here on Cinema Blend leading up to the film's big release on May 5th.
