New Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 TV Spot Brings David Bowie Back For Awesome Mix Vol. 2
In the construction of Awesome Mix Vol. 1 for Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn made excellent use of David Bowie's "Moonage Daydream," having the track play over the titular team's arrival at Knowhere. As it turns out, Star-Lord's mom was actually a really big Bowie fan, as it looks as though another one of his songs will be used in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - specifically "Suffragette City." Check out the evidence below!
James Gunn posted the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 TV spot on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, and it gives us yet another song to expect in the mix for the blockbuster's highly-anticipated soundtrack. Adding "Suffragette City" by David Bowie to the list, we now know four songs that will be used in the film:
If the soundtrack from Guardians of the Galaxy is any indication, this will ultimately represent just a third of the music in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but damn does it have us excited. Not only are these all amazing songs (kudos to Star-Lord's mom for having great taste), but they have really been used to amazing effect thus far in the marketing materials for the Marvel Studios blockbuster. If James Gunn has used them equally as well in the finished cut of the film, we should be in for yet another excellent, rock-infused action spectacular.
On beyond the wonderful song choice, this new TV spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 does have a good bit to offer in terms of footage too. Yes, most of it has already been showcased in other trailers, but I must say that I am a big fan of the fact that we see Baby Groot plugging Star-Lord's cassette into a set of speakers so that the Guardians can groove while they kick some inter-dimensional monster ass.
It feels like we've been waiting forever for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (about two-and-a-half years to be exact), but we are so very close to the finish line. The James Gunn movie is the next blockbuster set to be released by Marvel Studios, and is now less than three months away, set to come out the first week of May.
