New Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer Puts Isabela Moner’s Izabella In The Spotlight
The Transformers movie franchise is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with Transformers: The Last Knight, and from what we've seen so far, the fifth entry of the series will feel quite a bit different than what's come before. With just three months to go until the movie's released, Paramount has dropped a new trailer that places the focus on the newest Transformers human protagonist, Isabela Moner's Izabella. As you'll see from watching the preview below, just because she's young doesn't mean she isn't resourceful.
As was shown in the Transformers: The Last Knight teaser trailer dropped last December, Earth has changed since the events of Transformers: Age of Extinction. Much of the world has become ravaged as humanity struggles to survive in a conflict with the robots in disguise. Izabella is one of the many people whose life was drastically altered. Where once she was just a normal kid going to school, now she's living on the streets. Izabella's managed to make a few Transformer friends along the way, like the petite Sqweeks, but like everyone else (including those kids she meets in the new trailer), she's just trying to stay alive.
Fortunately for Izabella, her life looks like it might finally change for the better when she meets Cade Yeager and the familiar, benevolent Autobots. With her technical expertise and handiness at putting together improvised explosives, she'll assist in humanity's battle against the Decepticons. Besides learning more about Izabella, the latest Transformers: The Last Knight teases even more of the action we can expect from this franchise's fifth installment, from robot on robot brawls to ships that look like TIE Bombers from the Star Wars movies. Oh, and there's a Dinobot coughing up a police cruiser. Classic.
The Transformers franchise is notorious for being off-the-walls insane, but these previews for Transformers: The Last Knight paint the movie as the craziest installment yet. Besides everything that was shown in today's trailer, we also know that this movie will partly take place in the Middle Ages and World War II. Throw in that fight between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, and it's safe to say that moviegoing audiences won't be lacking for intensity and thrills. Besides Isabella Moner, Transformers: The Last Knight's main cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Laura Haddock, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Santiago Cabrera, John Turturro, Jerrod Carmichael and Anthony Hopkins.
Transformers: The Last Knight will be released in theaters on June 23, and the franchise is already set to continue with a Bumblebee spinoff next year and Transformers 6 the year after that. Let us know what you thought of this latest trailer in the comments below.
