Nothing gets movie fans more excited (or disappointed) in a movie like a trailer. Too much stock is usually placed on them, because they typically aren't reflective of the actual movie, but they do they get people talking. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has released some great trailers in its time (to this day, Avengers: Age of Ultron is the only trailer to make me physically shout with glee), but what's the best one? Director James Gunn has his own opinions, and it's one hardly anyone has even seen yet. Apparently, the Thor: Ragnarok trailer is straight up fire.
As if we all needed any more reason to be excited for Thor: Ragnarok. James Gunn knows a thing or two about trailers, having been constantly pestered about where the next Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer is (it's right here) on social media, but this time he was asked about a different film. When prompted on Twitter if he had seen the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, Gunn simply answered, "Yes. It might be the best @MarvelStudios trailer ever." That's some high praise right there. Gunn wasn't about to go into any detail, so we'll all just have to wait for the trailer to drop to see what's so great about it.
Does this mean that the Ragnarok trailer is coming soon? Not necessarily. We don't know when James Gunn actually saw the trailer, but these things probably aren't released the moment they're done. Marketing most likely sits on it for a while before scheduling the best time to release it to the masses. Then again, Ragnarok doesn't hit theaters until November, so it's probably not much longer before the first teaser trailer arrives.
It's easy to believe James Gunn when he says it's the best trailer, because everything about Thor: Ragnarok has been stellar. In addition to the reliable Chris Hemsworth, it has a great cast in the form of Tessa Thompson, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and a returning Tom Hiddleston. It also has the creative power of Taika Waititi behind the camera, steering the Thor franchise into a new and exciting direction. It's easy to see his influences in the first photos of the film that released not too long ago. Oh, also Thor and Hulk fight in a gladiator arena and Doctor Strange shows up, so, there's a lot to love here.
Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 3, 2017. To learn more about the movie, check out Everything We Know About Thor: Ragnarok.
