The Guardians Of The Galaxy Ride Will Have A Slew Of Different Experiences With The Characters
Next month Disney Parks will unveil their first ride based on a Marvel property Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, we've got new information about exactly how our favorite galactic heroes will be part of the theme park experience. While the primary ride experience for guests will involve being raised up and dropped down over and over again, while that's going on, one of six different vignettes will be playing out showing some members of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast being involved in the attempted escape. Those six different experiences are being described as...
These names came from storyboard titles that were seen by IGN during an early walkthrough of the new ride, and no specifics were given as far what actually takes place during each. From the names we can see that least two members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will be specifically involved in these experiences, Drax and Star-Lord, so get ready to see Dave Bautista and Chris Pratt on your next trip to Disneyland. While the other titles don't specifically call out Gamora, Groot, or Rocket, we can assume that each of them will be a part of one of the other experiences, as our information is that all of the Guardians will be part of the ride at some point.
If we don't see Rocket during this part of the ride it's likely because he plays a major part of the ride's initial setup. The ride sees guests enter the home of the Collector, played by Benicio Del Toro. Tanaleer Tivan has made the Guardians all part of his collection, but Rocket escapes and enlists the guests to help him free the others. The ride car starts by being pulled to the top of the tower, where Rocket will disable the building generator, causing all hell to break lose, then one of these six events plays out while the ride car rises and falls. Oh, and each different ride has a different classic rock song to go along with it, because it wouldn't be Guardians of the Galaxy without that.
We're sure that Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout was going to be popular by virtue of its Marvel tie-in alone. Now, it appears the ride will be even more sought after as fans who want to see everything the ride has to offer will need to go on it at least six times in order to see all the characters and all the stories, and that assumes that you don't get any repeats.
At least one of these experiences is directly tied to the newest film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The Abilisk is the tentacled creature we see Drax attacking in the trailers for the new movie.
The ride is set to open later in May, so hopefully, most people will have a chance to see the movie first and the ride won't spoil anything for them. The multiple ride experiences also allow for Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout to expand in the future. We know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be along eventually, and when it is the ride could easily add additional events based on that film, similar to what Star Tours has been doing with the newest Star Wars episodes.
