These Star Wars Lightsaber Churros Will Make You Want To Visit Disneyland Immediately

Every day we get closer and closer to Star Wars Land finally opening at the Disney Parks. Luckily, we don't have to wait until 2019 for every great news Star Wars inspired idea to hit Disneyland. Recently, both parks in the US have added a little something to one of their most popular sweet treats and we wholly approve. You can now buy "lightsaber churros" and they're color coded to match your personal alignment to the Force. Check it out.

The best part isn't even that the churros are dyed to look like lightsabers. The effect is made complete by the wrapper that resembles a lightsaber hilt and it's brilliant. These churros apparently hit the parks on May the 4th, fittingly enough, but are still available. They're on sale at both Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida, both parks are the location of the Star Tours ride, so you can likely find them at the closest churro cart to the attraction, which is still the only Star Wars ride in the parks, until Star Wars Land opens.

If the color makes you wary, there's no need to worry as the churros are apparently still the traditional flavor of cinnamon and sugar, as opposed to the Golden Churros which were recently available at Disneyland and were lemon in flavor, which is weird.

It will be five years this fall since Disney first bought Lucasfilm, and while the two studios already had a preexisting deal that brought a Star Wars themed attraction and merchandise to the parks, the fact is that park changes are planned so far in advance that it's really taken this long for them to get to the point where they're ready to make a massive investment in Star Wars. Star Wars Land is currently under construction on both coasts and is set to open at some point in 2019. Between now and then there will likely be many more little updates to keep the parks Star Wars material current with the Star Wars universe. We know that Star Tours will be receiving a new segment later this year that will be associated with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. There is even an indication that a Star Wars themed hotel could be on its way.

Lightsabers are going to be an important part of the new Star Wars Land when it finally does open. The prop was part of the conversation at the recent Star Wars Celebration Orlando and while we don't really know what the park has planned, the implication is that the lightsabers used by cast members in the park are going to be something special to see. Until then we have churros, which at least are tasty.
