The First Paddington 2 Trailer Features Adorable Mishaps And Mayhem
We aren't getting the second Paddington movie until 2018, but that hasn't stopped The Weinstein Company from giving us our first look at the upcoming British adventure flick. If you saw 2014's Paddington and liked it, you should find more to enjoy from the trailer for the second film, which shows the sequel will be very much in the same vein of the original. You can check out Paddington and co. getting into adorable mayhem and mishaps, below.
Since the events in Paddington, the young bear has finally settled in with the Brown family. However, there are some mysterious events occurring in town, and while the trailer for the new movie doesn't expressly show the finer points of the plot, we already know that Paddington has worked really hard to buy his Aunt Lucy a present for her big 100th birthday. Once he purchases it, however, it is unfortunately stolen, and from the looks of things this will lead to other hijinks and even a scene where Henry and Mary Brown enter someone else's abode.
One of the original trailers for Paddington featured a very memorable scene where the adorable bear was not familiar with modern plumbing and ended up ruining a bathroom in one fell swoop. The trailer for Paddington 2 isn't quite so blunt with it's adorable mishaps, but we do see Paddington scaling a building to disastrous effects. The breaking and entering scene previously mentioned with Henry and Mary Brown also features a great gag in which Henry complains they are "breaking and entering," Mary responds that nothing has been broken, and Henry immediately drops a vase, cracking it. Classic.
The original movie suffered some setbacks when Colin Firth left the project, but the new cast filled his shoes nicely and honestly helped along the idea that live action movies with an animation component can be amazing. And Paddington did it on a much more reasonable budget than projects like Disney's live action Beauty and The Beast or The Jungle Book. It's hard to tell if Paddington 2 will be as much of a charmer as the original after only small sneak peek, but we're looking forward to finding out.
Paddington 2 is currently slated for release on January 12, 2018. Luckily, there are plenty of family-oriented movies coming out before then. To take a look, check out our full 2017 movies schedule.
