Watch Gal Gadot And Chris Pine Surprise A Movie Theater Filled With Wonder Woman Fans
You can usually tell how much a celebrity cares about the project they're working on based on how eager they are to sell it. In the cases of both Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, you can tell both have a lot of love for Wonder Woman, and both haven't been afraid to show it. And if you weren't aware of that fact before today, then the video of them surprising a group of fans at an advanced screening basically lays that out for you in living color.
The clip above came from a preview screening in New York, where Gadot and Pine were on hand, as well along with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. The giddy air between the three of them is infectious, even while watching it through a video, and you can hear the rolling tide of realization hitting the crowd as cheers turn into flat-out pandemonium. Frankly, who can blame the crowd for this reaction? It's not every day you get to see a movie like Wonder Woman with the folks who actually made the flick in attendance.
It's that sort of fanbase that propelled the film to already record-breaking grosses, helped along because people like Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Patty Jenkins all believed in the power of Wonder Woman. Both the cast and crew had an intense dedication to bringing the world of the Themyscira to life, and in the most faithful way possible. So for them to show up to a random screening to surprise their fans is not only a pleasant surprise, it's pretty much the ultimate thank you to the fans who are about to carry the project, and their names, into the film history books in the summer of 2017.
While Wonder Woman certainly isn't the first, nor will it be the last film of its type to have such a screening, it's good to know that the film was properly supported by both the fans and the folks making it, as evident in this video, which was shared by Gal Gadot herself. Taking into account some of the rabble-rousing that some against the film had taken to promoting, it kind of needed some positive fan energy to offset those who would see the film crash and burn. With the reaction DC's latest entry into its Extended Universe canon has garnered, we wouldn't be surprised if Gadot and Patty Jenkins were secretly Amazonians themselves, sent to the world of humanity to deliver one hell of a movie. So good luck trying to knock this flick out of anyone's minds anytime soon.
