Spider-Man: Homecoming Has Screened, Here’s What Critics Think
Marvel and Sony joined forces in 2015 to work on Spider-Man together, and following the Web-Slinger's MCU debut last year in Captain America: Civil War, he's now leading his own solo movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming. The public is still two weeks away from being able to see it in theaters, but critics, reporters and other lucky folks have just left special screenings of the next Spider-Man theatrical tale, and the early reactions are pouring in. We've collected some of the immediate thoughts below, and don't worry, there aren't any spoilers ahead.
Starting off, we have CinemaBlend's own Sean O'Connell, who not only praised Spider-Man: Homecoming as the best of the Webbed Wonder's movies yet, but also called it his favorite MCU movie.
Germain Lussier from io9 complimented Spider-Man: Homecoming for its innocence compared to other MCU movies, and he also later said it's the best Spider-Man movie since 2004's Spider-Man 2.
William Bibbiani from Crave Online Took gave a slightly more critical reaction to Spider-Man: Homecoming, saying it doesn't quite reach the top of the Web-Slinger's list of cinematic outings.
Comicbook.com's Brandon Davis declared that folks who love Easter eggs, both related to Spider-Man and the wider MCU, will enjoy the movie.
Rachel Simon from Bustle declared that Spider-Man: Homecoming has many of the elements that make for a good summer blockbuster.
Mashable's Angie Han highlighted how the movie does a good job balancing the two sides of Peter Parker's life.

Finally, EW's Devan Coggan praised Tom Holland for his performance as the Wall-Crawling hero.
Overall, it sounds like Marvel and Sony's partnership was a wise course of action, as Spider-Man: Homecoming is receiving great early positive reception. Tom Holland's Peter Parker already has a bright future ahead of him in the MCU with Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and 3 already in the works, as well as him dropping in on Avengers: Infinity War next year, so it's good to hear that for the most part, his first movie in this continuity is a thrilling ride.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will spin its web in theaters on July 7, and check back with CinemaBlend next week for our full review of the movie.
