When Frozen 2 Is Reportedly Going To Start Recording
Jonathan Groff is busy with an upcoming podcast project, but he recently revealed he has a certain animated movie coming up on his plate, and sooner than you might guess. The actor, who voices Kristoff in Frozen, recently revealed that he's set to already start recording voice work for Frozen 2, the long-awaited sequel to the adventure movie featuring Elsa and Anna. He says it's just going to be a few more weeks before Frozen 2 gets off of the ground in earnest.
It's only been a few months since Disney finally announced that Frozen 2 would finally be getting off the ground. The sequel to the movie has been in development since 2015, and despite Kristen Bell confirming that a script was in place and recording would start soon a year ago, nothing has really moved forward on the Frozen 2 front, that is, until a couple of months ago when the studio announced fans will be seeing the movie on November 27, 2019. And while Jonathan Groff revealed Disney has been pretty tight-lipped regarding the plot of the new movie, he did tell EW it's finally moving into production. Which is a huge deal, as fans have been excited about a potential sequel since the original movie dropped four years ago. And, the possibility that it might include a song that might put "Let it Go" on the back burner for good is probably appealing for some, too.
In the meantime, we'll still be seeing more from Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and the rest of the gang even sooner. Possibly to keep interest up, Disney announced the release of a Frozen short called Olaf's Frozen Adventure. As for that project, we've already seen footage and definitely know more about the plot. Olaf's Frozen Adventure will take place during the holiday season and will feature Olaf trying to find the perfect holiday tradition to share with his new family. Of course, trusty reindeer Sven will also be in tow.
Frozen 2's premiere date is still a ways away, but I'm sure we'll learn plenty more about the movie as the weeks roll on. In the meantime, Cars 3 is still entertaining families in theaters right now, and Disney/Marvel's joint venture Spider-Man: Homecoming is finally hitting theaters this weekend. But if you're a super huge Disney fan, don't worry, we have you covered. Check out our full guide of upcoming Disney projects.
