Could Pitch Perfect 4 Happen? Here's What Anna Kendrick Says
Pitch Perfect 3 isn't out until the holidays, but that hasn't stopped people involved with the franchise from thinking about how long it could continue to go on. In fact, franchise star Anna Kendrick was recently asked whether Pitch Perfect 4 might be in the cards and she had a very excited yet succinct answer to the question. She said:
Of course, being enthusiastic about something doesn't necessarily guarantee it will happen. What talks louder are the box office numbers. The original movie, Pitch Perfect, was a sleeper hit, grossing only $65 million domestically and growing on home release. The second movie then made $184 million domestically. There's every chance that the third movie will continue to do well at the box office, and in that case, it would make all the sense to continue the franchise with Pitch Perfect 4. The only question would be, "Where do the girls go from here?"
From what Anna Kendrick told EW, there's plenty of love on the set of the Pitch Perfect movies, so much so that the cast even likes to hang out with one another when the cameras aren't rolling. While getting along on set isn't a requirement for a successful movie, it probably makes negotiating sequels a bit easier, as the cast genuinely seems to enjoy spending time together. Or, according to Kendrick,
Pitch Perfect 3 has thankfully already released a trailer for the upcoming sequel, so you should already know what sorts of jokes to expect. Still, if you've missed out on that, you can give it a watch, below.
We also know the plot will revolve around the Bellas once again, only this time the crew will have finished college and will have moved on to new and not-so-exciting jobs. (This even includes sticking their arms up the butts of farm animals; oh, what some people must do to make ends meet.) Luckily, a USO Tour proves to be a more exciting option, and the rest should be movies history.
Pitch Perfect 3 doesn't hit theaters until December 22, so it could definitely be a while before the studio figures out whether or not to greenlight Pitch Perfect 4. In the meantime, take a look at our full movies list, to see what is going to hit theaters in the coming months.
