Check Out The Disguise Ben Affleck Used To Not Be Seen At Comic-Con
Comic book conventions are a special time for fans. Not only do they get a chance to mingle with one another and talk about their favorite heroes, but if they're lucky, they will also get an opportunity to see some of those heroes in the flesh. It looks like that likely happened at San Diego Comic-Con this year, as some lucky fans may have spotted Ben Affleck in a delightful meta disguise before entering Hall H. Check out the video below to see for yourself.
Bruce Wayne spent years studying the art of stealth and disguise, but Ben Affleck's not quite as skilled in that field. Although we never actually see his face in that clip, the uploader of the video claims to have seen Affleck don the utterly creepy mask before walking through the crowd. That said, even without seeing his face there's certainly evidence to support the notion that it's Affleck's mug under the mask. The guy is easily one of the tallest actors in the DCEU, and he has remained fairly well-bulked up with muscle since taking on the role a few years ago. Couple that with the security detail walking with him, and we are willing to bet that this is the Justice League actor.
If that truly was Ben Affleck under that mask, then it looks like he may have even decided to have some fun with the "Sad Affleck" meme that circulated after the release of Batman V Superman last year. In the video, the figure that we believe to be Affleck is wearing a shirt with Sesame Street's Oscar the Grouch on the front.
Ben Affleck's presence at San Diego Comic-Con went a long way towards easing fan concerns about his future as The Dark Knight. Rumors have swirled from a variety of different sources (including a recent joke from his brother Casey) that Affleck wants out, but the actor took the Hall H stage and definitively confirmed that he's sticking around for the foreseeable future. Obviously, situations such as these are always in a state of flux (particularly when it comes to the DCEU), but Affleck's presence at Comic-Con arguably represented his most compelling case that he intends to remain a part of the franchise.
Ben Affleck's possible Comic-Con disguise isn't the first time that a member of the DCEU has gone undercover on the floor of a major convention. Superman actor Henry Cavill pulled a similar stunt last year by donning another mask and mingling with Comic-Con attendees. If nothing else, it seems to show that the passion for the DCEU goes both ways, and the actors appear to enjoy giving back some of that enthusiasm when they get the chance.
The actor will make his next appearance in the DCEU when Justice League premieres in theaters on November 17. We will bring you more information related to the Oscar-winner's future as The Caped Crusader as new information becomes available to us.
