In less than one year, Avengers: Infinity War will be releasing in theaters and fans can finally see the much-hyped Thanos in action. Josh Brolin will be portraying the character, and while we don't know a ton about the film at this point, we can at least confirm that Brolin is having a great time. It turns out that playing a galactic overlord bent on the destruction of everything is a lot of fun, and Brolin believes that his time on Infinity War might be the most fun he's ever had.
Back in July, a room full of fans at San Diego Comic Con lost their minds after watching a trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. That footage has yet to release online in an official capacity, but it included Thanos blowing up a planet (or moon) and throwing the flaming chunks at the heroes he's battling. That sounds pretty awesome, and Josh Brolin can confirm that it's also fun to film it. Brolin told Entertainment Weekly that doing Infinity War was extremely fun for him. And it sounds like throwing meteors is only the tip of the iceberg! Brolin has seen some footage utilizing cutting-edge technology that is "absolutely mind-blowing." So, prepare yourselves for that as best as you can.
We've only seen snippets of Brolin as Thanos in the MCU thus far. The Biggest Bad has preferred to delegate throughout the course of the movies, but he'll finally be taking matters into his own hands for Infinity War. Marvel and Brolin have a fair amount of pressure to deliver a satisfying villain, so here's hoping that Thanos can live up to the hype that's been building for years now.
Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and is the culmination of years of storytelling. The film will find the Avengers teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy inorder to stop Thanos and his Black Order from collecting the Infinity Stones, which would allow the Mad Titan to do pretty much anything. Infinity War features the most characters of any Marvel movie, with some scenes said to include at least 30 characters.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to land in theaters on May 4, 2017. To learn absolutely everything you can about the blockbuster before then, make sure to take a look at everything we know so far about the highly anticipated movie.
