A Bad Moms Christmas Red Band Trailer Is Longer And Drunker
With labor day now in the rear view, many folks are ready to dive into the fall season. This should include plenty of upcoming horror movies to enjoy, although studios are looking further ahead to the more holiday-focused releases. And in addition to Star Wars: The Last Jedi hitting theaters and no doubt making tons of money this December, the R-rated sequel A Bad Moms Christmas will also be arriving to poke fun at the rituals of Christmas, especially for the roles that moms often have to play. A new red band trailer was just released, and it has far more booze and f-bombs than its predecessor. Check it out.
The bad moms are back, and now the bad grandmas have joined the party too. The holiday season usually brings families together (whether they like it or not), and now A Bad Moms Christmas should give audiences a glimpse into how the three titular mothers became so ridiculous-- just blame it on their parents.
This new trailer featured a bunch of new footage, mostly involving the three new moms that will be introduced in A Bad Moms Christmas. The trio of bad grandmas will be played by Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, and Susan Sarandon, each of which was given more screen time in this new trailer. While the bad moms originally want to kick back and relax for Christmas, Amy's Mother (Baranski) has other plans. While arriving in Amy's home for the holiday, she announced that she's already begun planning a massive Holiday party that poor Amy will be forced to host.
But Amy's Mother isn't the only one throwing a wrench into the bad moms' plans. Kristen Bell's Kiki has to deal with her own mother (Cheryl Hines), and we learn how overbearing and strangely close the two were in Kiki's formative years. Kiki's mother wants to spend every waking minute of the holiday season with her daughter, which we find out how co-dependent they were during Kiki's childhood. In fact, her mother took her to prom. It looks like Cheryl Hines and Kristen Bell have some serious chemistry together, likely because Hines actually directed her on screen daughter in 2009's Serious Moonlight.
Then there's the real scene stealer, Carla (Kathryn Hahn) and her mother (Susan Sarandon). Carla was a hot mess of Bad Moms, and now we can see where she gets it from. While Sarandon was the least featured of the new characters in this trailer, it'll be great to see an even worse version of Carla this time around. Also featured in Carla's scenes is This Is Us actor Justin Hartley. He's playing a love interest for her, and they meet in the most hilarious and non-romantic fashion: while Carla is waxing his various body parts. This sequence was perhaps the funniest of this red band trailer, as they have a full on conversation and even a handshake while she gives him a bikini wax. Ouch.
A Bad Moms Christmas is set to arrive in theaters on November 3rd, so it's actually less than a month away. In the meantime, check out our 2017 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.
