Where Marvel Fans Can Get A Sneak Peek At Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok

We're getting very close to the next entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Thor: Ragnarok. If you're a fan who just can't wait to see the new movie, there's a way you can get a sneak peek a month before the movie comes out. Starting October 6, there will be a selection of scenes shown at the Sunset Showcase Theater at Disney's California Adventure theme park in Anaheim, California. What's more, the scenes will include additional effects that may make the experience even better than what you'll get in the movie theater.

The Sunset Showcase Theater occupies the space that used to be the Muppet Theater and the home of the MuppetVision 3D show. While the show has been removed and the Muppet facade has been taken down, the 3D theater is still there and it is frequently used as a place to show scenes of upcoming Disney movies. The Disney Parks Blog has announced that beginning October 6, Thor: Ragnarok will be the next movie to get a special preview. While this isn't the only 3D theater available in the two Southern California parks, it's the best location for Thor as it's located in Hollywood Land, not far from where Marvel character photo ops are available, and a short walk from the location of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission - Breakout ride. The scenes will be shown in 3D and will also include "special in-theater effects."While exactly what those will be is not mentioned, expect to get flashes of light, sprays of water, gusts of air, and possibly even interesting scents, as those are the things the theater is outfitted to provide.

It's those extra effects that make viewing these previews at Disneyland extra special. I've been able to catch a few movie previews at the park in the past and, if anything, it makes the eventual viewing of the entire movie in a normal theater a bit underwhelming. The added effects can really immerse you in the experience.

It would be great to get an early look at some scenes from Thor: Ragnarok. While they likely won't show off anything too revealing, getting a complete scene of any kind, rather than the sort of chopped up trailer moments we've seen so far, would be nice. We've seen a lot of the humor that Thor: Ragnarok will provide, but a scene that's a bit more serious would be nice too. While these are comic book movies, there is still a serious threat in the story and we'd love to see how that is going to be handled. We can also get a preview of the quality of the 3D experience, so you'll know if you want to buy that ticket when the movie comes out.

If you're going to be visiting Disneyland as part of their Halloween festivities in October, be sure to stop by and check out the scenes from Thor: Ragnarok beginning October 6. The film arrives in theaters for the rest of us November 3.
