Blockers NSFW Trailer: Watch John Cena Try To Stop Teens From Having Sex
There's a new movie coming out about teens attempting to have sex on prom night. It's a raunch comedy that will also involve the parents of the teens, and with all of that in mind, it's easy to see how the new trailer for Blockers would be red band. If you'd like to take a look at the upcoming raunch comedy, which is chock full of cockblocking references and f-bombs, you can do so, below. Did we mention it's NSFW? It's definitely NSFW.
Those of you who have clicked on this article to watch the trailer have probably not heard of Blockers, yet, because as of a short while ago, the movie wasn't even called that. It was called The Pact, which sounds like some sort of teeny bopper film, and not a comedy about three parents who stumble upon their daughters texting one another, only to realize their teenaged girls have made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night. Neither title is really doing the movie any favors, but the trailer is still pretty fun, especially when Leslie Mann, John Cena and Ike Barinholtz (who broke his neck while filming) are reacting to the gross and over-the-top emojis the teen girls use to talk about sex.
John Cena has been working a lot more in the movie realm in recent years, and while we wouldn't describe the wrestler as having amazing range, he's the right fit for certain roles, and Blockers seems to be another good role for the actor. In the movie, he's the dad that hates chest bumping with his daughter now that she's grown because he's weirded out by accidentally coming into contact with her boobs. And he's definitely interested when Leslie Mann's character decides to foil the plan for the girls to lose their virginity. In fact, he's all in. Even if it means butt-chugging beer.
The movie is from the writer of Pitch Perfect, Kay Cannon, and judging by the fact that Universal is pushing a trailer out about six months in advance of the comedy, there's at least some push from the studio to get Blockers out in front of people before its official release. Still, Leslie Mann, John Cena, and Ike Barinholtz are all really funny people, but none of them are really top-lining movies stars. This is an especially huge gig for Cena, who has had smaller roles in Daddy's Home, Sisters and Trainwreck, but whose biggest movie otherwise has been The Wall.
We'll officially get the r-rated comedy on April 6, 2018, according to Universal. Blockers has actually been pushed up from an earlier-announced April 20 release date. Obviously, there are quite a few movies coming out between now and then, and if you'd like to keep up, you can take a look at our full schedule.
