Watch The Rock Lip Sync Welcome To The Jungle For The New Jumanji Movie
Is there anyone in Hollywood who you would rather work with than The Rock? The movie and social media superstar gives his all and seems to bring an infectious sense of fun to everything he does. How he manages to find time to sleep and lift while being in every franchise on the planet is beyond me. Recently, The Rock shared a video from the set of his upcoming movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and in it he can be seen lip-syncing "Welcome to the Jungle." Check it out.
That guy loves what he does, and who can blame him? The song he is singing in the Instagram video is the Guns N' Roses classic, "Welcome to the Jungle" and it is actually where the new Jumanji movie got its subtitle from. The Rock has already shown in the past that he has singing chops on top of all his other talents and he is more than happy to show them off. In the video he even evokes the mannerisms of his iconic wrestling character with the "if you smellll" posture and the raised eyebrow at the end. This video is just a sample, too as the post indicates that the other three leads of the cast also lip-synced this song for a video that will coincide with the film's release in December.
As fun as this video is, some feel that Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is simply a nostalgia-grab. Nostalgia is powerful but demanding and it is often difficult to capture the spirit of something twenty years later. Some of the initial images from the film may have concerned fans of the original film, plus the gap of Robin Williams can arguably be felt. (Even if that will be addressed.) However, everything we have seen from the trailers indicates that this could be a fun return to the world of Jumanji and that it will honor the legacy of Williams' Alan Parrish character. On top of that, the amount of fun The Rock seems to be having with this movie is encouraging and will hopefully come through onscreen with an adventure that captures the charm of the original and introduces the world of Jumanji to a new generation of fans.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart and is directed by Jake Kasdan. Welcome to the Jungle sees the magical board game of the original movie replaced by a video game that transports four high school students into the game and the deadly jungle. If you haven't gotten a good look at what that will look like, yet, make sure you check out the trailer, below.
CinemaBlend will keep you updated as we approach the December 20th release date of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. In the meantime, be sure to check out the rest of the movies left this year with our 2017 movie premiere guide.
