Jennifer Lawrence is one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood right, having starred in two blockbuster franchises, not to mention winning an Oscar for her dramatic role in Silver Linings Playbook. Needless to say, she's kind of a big deal, but it turns out a lot more people have trouble remembering her movies than you'd think. Lawrence guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and did a segment where she took to the streets and asked people to name five of her movies. Pretty easy, right? Just name the various Hunger Games movies and you need one more! Turns out it's a little more difficult to come up with names like Winter's Bone than you may think. Check out the video below.
Jimmy Kimmel is out all week in support of his infant son's surgery, so his show has been hosted by a different celebrity every night. Shaquille O'Neal, David Grohl, and Channing Tatum have already hosted the show, and last night it was Jennifer Lawrence's turn. Never one to worry about embarrassing herself, Lawrence showed a segment where she surprised random people on the streets of Hollywood and asked them to name five of her movies. Aside from Kimmel's sidekick Guillermo, no one in the video is easily able to do this. When you're surprised by an A-list celebrity, it's pretty hard to think straight, so you kind of have to forgive some of these people for not being able to name even one of Lawrence's bigger films.
There are a surprising amount of people who don't even seem to know who Jennifer Lawrence is, but props to her for running with it and making fun of herself. You'd think more people in Hollywood would at least know who she is -- even the tourists -- but even starring in one of the most successful franchises in the last 10 years isn't enough to get some people to care (Harrison Ford sure doesn't). For the people who could remember, American Hustle, Joy, and even Winter's Bone got some love. Sadly, Silver Linings Playbook, the movie she won an Oscar for, went unmentioned.
Unsurprisingly, mother! wasn't getting much love except for an expertly timed bus advertisement, but Jennifer Lawrence has other projects coming up that might get a better Cinemascore. She'll be reprising her role as Mystique in the next X-Men movie, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which will deal with the emergence of the evil Phoenix persona in Jean Grey. You'll also be able to see Lawrence in Red Sparrow, a spy thriller. In that movie, Lawrence plays a Black Widow-esque spy who is trained by a covert Russian spy school to be a deadly agent.
You can next see Jennifer Lawrence in Red Sparrow, which hits theaters on March 2, 2018. For more movie news, make sure to keep it right here on CinemaBlend and we'll keep you updated with the latest information as soon as it is available.
