Someone Ruined The Force Awakens For Josh Gad, But It Wasn't Daisy Ridley
Earlier this year, Josh Gad and Daisy Ridley went viral with some internet gold created on the set of Murder On The Orient Express. The former, an avid Star Wars fan, posted multiple videos of himself filming the latter, pestering her with questions about the future of Rey and what to expect from Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi. Funny as the videos were, Gad wasn't really interested in prying any secrets from Ridley, and part of that is because an unfortunate encounter on the set of Beauty and the Beast actually ruined the ending of Star Wars: The Force Awakens for him:
With Murder on the Orient Express arriving in theaters this weekend, I had the immense pleasure of sitting down with stars Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad and Leslie Odom Jr. during the film's press day in London, England last week. At the end of our chat about the new Agatha Christie adaptation, I asked about Gad and Ridley's fun Star Wars-related videos, and Gad relayed his story about how the ending of the seventh chapter of the saga was ruined by a member of the Beauty and the Beast crew.
Because I was out of time, I didn't have the opportunity to ask exactly what it was that was spoiled from The Force Awakens, but it's easy to imagine the kind of details that were possibly shared -- from the fate of Han Solo to the appearance of Luke Skywalker. Fortunately, it looks like this story will ultimately have a happy ending, not only because it seems Daisy Ridley shielded him from any Last Jedi spoilers, but because he also got a nice screening invite!
You can watch Josh Gad and Daisy Ridley chat about Star Wars, spoilers and more in the video below!
Fans will have to wait a few weeks before they get to see Daisy Ridley back as Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but the great news is that Ridley, Josh Gad and Leslie Odom Jr. are all together on the big screen this Friday as part of the massive ensemble in Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express. Stay tuned for more on that from here on CinemaBlend, including my interviews with the cast and director.
