Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is maybe the single busiest man in Hollywood. He's got enough movies in his schedule to keep him working for the next few years, whether it's Skyscraper, Black Adam, Jungle Cruise, or Doc Savage. However, he's not too busy that he can't make one fan very happy. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Johnson was able to meet a big fan of Maui, his character from Disney's Moana. Johnson even sang his number from the movie, "You're Welcome," but as you can see from the video below, the little kid was having absolutely none of it.
It can be pretty overpowering for a kid to meet their idol, especially if that idol is a demigod. As Dwayne Johnson described in a post to his Instagram account, Ty is a huge fan of his character Maui from Moana. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ty and his family were able to visit the set of Skyscraper, where was able to come face to face with his favorite character. Entering with a Maui wig, Johnson began singing "You're Welcome" to Ty (which works really well given the situation), but as you can see, Ty did not look impressed. In Johnson's own words, Ty is staring at him like Johnson has been "stealing his lunch for the last 87 days."
That's kind of a bummer that Ty wasn't more receptive, but according to Dwayne Johnson, that's usually what goes down when he meets kid fans. Writing in his post, he reveals that as soon as he left, Ty immediately opened up about how happy he was to meet Maui.
While we can't say if a return to Maui is in the future for The Rock, his young fans certainly have a lot to look forward to from the former WWE star. Johnson has tons of different projects in different stages of development. As mentioned above, he's starring role in the action movie Skyscraper, which is kind of like Die Hard but if the building had been on fire too. He's also involved in San Andreas 2, Disney's Jungle Cruise, DC's Black Adam, Doc Savage, and is rumored to be in Suicide Squad 2. For what's hitting theaters soon, Johnson can soon be seen in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Rampage, which recently debuted its first trailer.
Moviegoers can next see The Rock on the big screen in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle on December 20, 2017. For a full list of The Rock's upcoming movies, we've compiled all of his future announced projects right here. For more movie news, make sure to stick with CinemaBlend.
