More Info On Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Resistance Fighters
Star Wars fans are used to watching heroes like Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Rey and Finn fight the good fight against those who want to conquer the galaxy far, far away using the dark side, but let's not forget that these heroes wouldn't make it very far without support from their respective organizations. Just like The Rebel Alliance three decades earlier, The Resistance is currently embroiled in a fight against tyranny in the Star Wars universe, and some promotional material for The Last Jedi has shed light on three Resistance members who may not be getting the full spotlight, but will still play important roles in bringing the hurt to The First Order.
The most notable of this trio that's included as part of the card game Top Trumps' Star Wars: The Last Jedi set (via Comicbook.com) is Paige Tico, the sister of new main character Rose Tico. While Rose spends her days aiding the Resistance as a maintenance worker (though she'll soon be paired with Finn on a mission requiring them to travel to Canto Bight and go undercover in The First Order), Paige is a gunner for Cobalt Squadron who has the "nerves of steel" required to target point defense cannons and enemy starfighters that are harassing her during bombing runs.
Paige's Resistance comrades out in space will include Nix and Tallie. Nix is another member of Cobalt Squadron whose primary duty is triggering the bomb-release mechanism to drop the ship's payload on their First Order enemies. It sounds like she and Paige work closely together, both figuratively and literally given how cramped that bomber sounds. As for Tallie, she is one of the A-wing pilots who is tasked with keeping The First Order's ships away from the bomber until it can drop its explosive cargo.
Most of the Star Wars movies have provided great space battles, and The Last Jedi won't be any exception as we've already seen from the previews. However, these character details suggest that The Resistance will send Cobalt Squadron to take out of one of The First Order's key bases/outposts. Perhaps this is the same mission where Poe Dameron is putting his new X-Wing to the test and further proving why he's one of The Resistance's best pilots. All that being said, you can't have a war without casualties, and while it's possible Paige, Nix, Tallie and the rest of their allies will complete their objective, keep in mind that they also may not make it out of this story alive.
