Now, Even Jeremy Renner Is Teasing Us With An Avengers Set Photo
When we last saw Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton in the MCU, he was one of several members of Team Cap held prisoner on The Raft at the end of Captain America: Civil War. However, it looks like Steve Rogers busted him out just in time for Avengers: Infinity War, and Hawkeye is about to jump back into the fray in a significant way. With roughly six months until the next Avengers movie finally debuts, Renner has started to tease us with a new photo from the Avengers 4 set. Check it out below.
Prison has not gotten Hawkeye down, as he is obviously looking pretty stylish with that new haircut. There's not much that we can glean from a narrative perspective, but it seems like Hawkeye will be up to his old tricks during the events of Avengers 4. This lends credence to the belief that he survives Thanos' first assault in Avengers: Infinity War, unless we are looking at a Hawkeye from a flashback sequence. Renner isn't the first member of a major production to post set photos in recent months (Ron Howard has become a master of it on the set of Solo: A Star Wars Story), but this particular photo definitely helps bring the bigger picture into perspective.
Beyond the badass haircut, recent comments made by Jeremy Renner also seem to promise some cool turns for Hawkeye as a character. The actor seems incredibly excited about what the future holds for Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and rumors related to Avengers 4 (coupled with the fact that it will reportedly take place in Japan) suggest that he is going to ditch the mantle of Hawkeye in favor of Ronin at some point during the run of the story.
Luckily, it is beginning to look like we will receive some answers to our questions relatively soon. The first (and highly-demanded) official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War is set to debut tomorrow morning, which means we will finally have something to work with during our never-ending quest for answers about how the MCU will look after May 4. Will we finally get a closer look at Hawkeye's badass new costume? It is anyone's guess, but the timing of this social media post obviously has us more excited than ever before.
The clock continues to tick closer and closer to the May 4, 2018 release of Avengers: Infinity War, and Hawkeye will return to the MCU the following year when Avengers 4 debuts on May 3, 2019. For now, you can currently catch Thor: Ragnarok in theaters, and Ryan Coogler's Black Panther will debut in theaters on February 16, 2018.
