Take A Close Look At Spider-Man's Iron Spider Suit In Avengers: Infinity War
At the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming Peter Parker rejects a cool new Spider-Man costume presented to him by Tony Stark. However, the brand new trailer for Avengers: Infinity War has revealed Peter changed his mind. Among the massive number of characters that we glimpse in the this morning's new trailer, we see Spider-Man, looking A-fucking-mazing in the MCU version of the Iron Spider costume. Look at the beautiful work of art.
In the trailer, we first see Peter Paker on a bus where the closest thing to Spider Sense we've seen in the MCU shows the hair on his arm standing up, leading to the reveal of the portal that it appears Thanos will use to come to Earth. From there we get a beautiful acrobatic move that appears to be taking place on the portal itself, which shows off the new outfit the best, we get to see the back as well as the front. The pose at the end with the sun actually reflecting off the suit shows that it's more metallic than fabric.
While the suit hasn't actually been given a name in the movies. In the comic book version of the Civil War storyline, Tony Stark makes a new costume for Peter Parker called the Iron Spider. While the suit in the film is significantly different, the comic version had multiple arms for starters, fans are viewing this outfit as the movie version of the same outfit.
Now what we really want to know is how Peter Parker gets the suit. He rejected a spot in the Avengers along with the suit at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming so he probably isn't hanging around Avengers HQ much. The trailer shows us that Tony Stark is busy hanging out with Bruce Banner and Doctor Strange doing their own investigation of what is going on. By the time the portal is hanging in the air it seems unlikely Stark is hanging around to help Peter suit up, at the same time, it seems like it doesn't take a great deal of time for Peter to be ready to fight in his new suit.
Of course, the new suit doesn't make Peter Parker an unstoppable superhero. The last shot we see of him in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer is of Spider-Man being taken down hard by Thanos. He gets planted into the ground with one hand of the Mad Titan. We're sure the new suit has a lot of cool gadgets and abilities, but it may not be enough to stand up to this.
Between his brief appearance in Captain America: Civil War and his incredibly well-received solo outing Spider-Man is already one of the most popular characters in the MCU. With his brand new outfit, he'll probably only gather more fans. We'll get to see what the Iron Spider suit can do when Avengers: Infinity War comes out in May.
